This is an end of terrace Georgian town house. The flank wall was stabilised and four sash windows fitted. Structural steel works were needed to strengthen the wall allowing us to make the apertures for the two lower windows. The top floor section of this wall was timber frame that had perished and was replaced, incorporating the two new sashes. The whole wall was strengthened with stainless steel lath and rendered with haired mortar and white washed. The haired mortar is flexible and allows the wall to move without cracking.

This is an Edwardian terraced house that was ruined in the seventies. On this property we had to completely re build the front elevation as all the correct lintels had been removed. We completely remodelled this property from front to back.

Welcome to Restoration Lime.

We are a Kent based manufacturer of tradional lime mortars, lime plasters, lime washes and related products.

These products are eminently suitable for laying bricks, pointing, internal base coats of plaster and designed for use on older, traditional buildings you'll find all over the county. (These older buildings should be treated with care - many modern materials can cause damage to them. To find out why, please click HERE. )

Our lime mortars are a mixture of lime putty and various sands. If supplied directly to the site, they can also be blended with a pozzolanic additive, which is a natural material that helps the mortar to set more rapidly.

They are very well suited as an architecturally sympathetic exterior render that is both breathable and will allow for movement in your property with vastly reduced cracking.

We also undertake all building, conservation and restoration work as main contractors.

You can see examples of a very small selection of our work to the left and right of each page on this website. Hover the images for a description and click to enlarge.

Please note, visits to our factory in Ospringe, Faversham by appointment only.

A kitchen we renovated completely.
This is a late Tudor house where we replaced the old feather edge with new oak. Some of the brick panels had become detached. We rebuilt these and re-pointed the whole house.

This is a 4 seasons timber framed garden room clad in cedar. So much more than a log cabin - for the same price.
This is the interior of the 4 seasons timber framed garden room clad in cedar. So much more than a log cabin - for the same price. Although this one has a log burner, it's unlikely it will ever need to be lit.
